OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH
We accept the Scriptures as our authority in matters of faith and practice, and adopt the following Confession of Faith as our interpretation of Bible Doctrine:
We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament as verbally inspired of God and that they are of supreme and final authority. By “The Holy Bible” we mean that collection of sixty-six books, from Genesis to Revelation, which as written does not only contain and convey the Word of God, but IS THE VERY WORD OF GOD. We believe that those writings are preserved in the English language in the King James Version Bible for this generation and forever.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit: three in one, coequal, which is the Trinity.
We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of God, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, third Person of the Trinity, Who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and judgment. He is the life of every believer, and He empowers the preaching and teaching of the Gospel.
We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned, thereby incurring not only physical, but spiritual death (which is separation from God), and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature which is manifested in thought, word, and deed.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.
We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into Heaven and His present life there as High Priest and Advocate for all believers.
We believe in that blessed hope, the personal, premillennial, and imminent return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
We believe that salvation is the gift of God, offered to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. All who receive Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour are born again of the Holy Spirit and become children of God and heirs of eternal life. This is a relationship in which they are eternally secure.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost in hell, and the everlasting blessedness of the saved in heaven.
We believe that Satan is a person, the author of sin, and the cause of the fall; that he is the open and declared enemy of God and man. Satan is still working in the world to destroy the souls of men, and he and all his angels and all who receive not Christ as their Saviour will eternally perish in the Lake of Fire.
We believe in the local indigenous Church, Christ being the head. It’s mission is found in the Great Commission; First, win lost souls to Christ; Second, make disciples by teaching and instructing as He has commanded; Third, spread the Gospel to the world. We believe that all of its endeavors should be supported by the love-gifts of its members.
We believe that the ordinances of the Church, given by our Lord are baptism (by immersion following conversion) and the Lord’s Table (Communion).
We believe that marriage was instituted by God to be a permanent union between one man and one woman and therefore we are opposed to same sex marriages.
We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity should be engaged in outside of marriage between a man and a woman.
We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. (Genesis 2:24, 19:5,13; 26:8,9; Leviticus 18:1-30; Romans 1:26-29; I Corinthians 5:1; 6:9; I Thessalonians 4:1-8; Hebrews 13:4)
We believe that human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being. Abortion constitutes the unjustified, unexcused taking of unborn human life. Abortion is murder. (Job 3:16; Psalm 51:5; 139:14-16; Isaiah 44:24; 49:1,5,15; Luke 1:44)
We believe that life is sacred and any act of putting to death a person suffering from a distressing disease, illness or health problem from injury, for his own good is virtually an instance of self deification usurping a right that belongs only to God. (Psalm 68:20; II Kings 5:7; Job 1:21; 2:6; Hebrews 9:27)
